Direct Care Staff
Direct Care staff responsibilities vary greatly depending upon which consumers they work with. Some consumers require constant supervision and complete personal care, while others require only verbal reminders to complete their daily tasks.
Direct Care providers are what make our agency work; they are expected to be dependable and care for the consumers with patience and attention to the consumer's individual needs and wants.
High School Degree or its equivalent.
Patience in working with adults with disabilities is necessary; needs to have a caring attitude, and be caring and supportive to consumers.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Must be willing and able to assist with activities of daily living, including toileting, as required. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs is preferable.
A good driving record and sufficient insurance to transport consumers in your personal vehicle is preferred.
Knowledge of how to operate typical household appliances, including a stove, microwave, dishwasher, etc. is preferred. Training for specialized adaptive equipment for individual consumers will be provided.
